Overview
UNESCO World Heritage site, birthplace of Henry VIII, home to a 183 acre Royal Park and Mean Time itself, Greenwich is a nugget of beauty, culture and history waiting to be discovered. Whilst it’s located just five miles from central London, it almost feels distant from the city’s hustle and bustle as you walk through the parks and leafy streets. The bustling old-town streets are both a tourist trap and a home-from-home to University of Greenwich students, and certainly have no shortage of restaurants, pubs and boutiques. What’s even more beautiful about Greenwich, is the location being on the banks of the River Thames, so skip the tube or train and honour the area’s maritime history, and travel by boat instead.
